Kay Carpenter
Kay has been drawing and painting since childhood and studied Art as part of a degree in Education, specialising in textile design and printing. She then spent 28 years teaching in Primary Schools.

In 2003, Kay began a watercolour course at Langton Studios with artist Mary Rodgers. It was here that she was encouraged to move forward with her painting. Armed with new skills and a revived interest, Kay has gone on to work in pastels, acrylics and batik, and is now fulfilling her dream of working as an artist and adult tutor from her own studio at home.

Kay is inspired by colour, texture and the effects of light. Subjects include land and seascapes, natural forms and local scenes.

As a member of Northants Open Studios, Harborough Artist’s Cluster and Network Arts, Kay has many opportunities to exhibit her work. She is also on the organising committee for Great Bowden Visual Arts.
