Sheila works in watercolours and pastels, and has just taken up oil painting which she really loves. She very much enjoys the different challenges and experience that all the different media provide. Her first love was still life and flowers, and the sttractions of light and colour as an inspiration. The oils are giving her the added dimension of texture in her work.

Sheila moved to Market Harborough in Leicestershire seven years ago, having worked for the health service as a physiotherapist and senior manager, and then the charity sector in London. A long time ago she had made gold and silver jewellery, but time became the great problem. For many years she had wanted to take up painting and never had the time, but when she moved she found some excellent tutors, and now has found a great source of inspiration and enjoyment in her art

'Poppies'

She belongs to Network Arts, which is a group of mainly Northamptonshire based artists, and this year they held their first exhibition in Market Harborough.
