'Hibiscus'

After finishing my degree, I went on to pursue my other passion of snowboarding. I was selected for the GB Freestyle Snowboard team. Unfortunately, I suffered a knee injury whilst training, which developed complications and has left me in chronic pain. Physiotherapy and relaxation techniques are a major aid to my recovery and I have used art as part of that process.

My work is currently focused on 2 different types of art, paintings & light installations, both inspired by meditation. The lights produce repetitive mesmerizing effects with the circle symbolising life, contemplation and balance.

I have found that using flowers as the subject of my paintings, has a theraputic effect both in the painting techniques used and the positive nature of the resulting artwork.
I aim to merge the abstract, textured surface with the recognisable forms of the flowers. I paint with oils, acrylics, and enamels, using bold colours and sweeping brushstrokes to evoke strong feelings.
