I have always enjoyed making things, and have embroidered and sewn since I was small, growing up to make clothes and toys for the family and soft furnishings for the home. I was introduced to the wonderful world of textiles, and went on to complete a City and Guilds course in Patchwork and Quilting at Tresham Institute.

“ Jungle” and “Forest Fire” were made in response to a newscast of bush fires and they explore the texture and colours of those subjects. I wanted to show the amazing variety of texture and colour associated with the rain forest by combining fabrics and thread. The pieces are finished with machine stitching and hand embroidery.


“Peace” is in complete contrast in that it is a single layer of fabric with minimal stitching.
